Reds' big bats deal another blow to Brewers' playoff chances
Joey Votto and Jay Bruce each hit a pair of homers Friday, and the Cincinnati Reds piled up seven overall against a tattered pitching staff, rolling to an 11-2 victory that dealt another major setback to the Brewers' playoff chances.

Bruce, the Reds' No. 1 draft choice in 2005, advanced from Class A Sarasota to Double-A Chattanooga to Triple-A Louisville last season and hit a combined .319 with 46 doubles, eight triples, 26 homers and 89 RBI, earning him the distinction of Baseball America's minor league player of the year. Bruce, who turns 21 at the outset of the season, has a mountain of potential and should develop into a perennial All-Star. If you play in a long-term keeper league, you need to grab this guy before someone else in your league does because he has the kind of talent that could carry your Fantasy team for the next decade. He might even factor in seasonal performance if the Reds give him the center field job coming out of spring traning. Consider him worth a late-round flier in all leagues.
