Preseason Outlook

Manning brings Colts back: Colts QB Peyton Manning rallied the team in the fourth quarter Sunday with a late touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne to help Indianapolis beat Houston. Manning finished 25-of-34 passing for 247 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also added four carries for 8 yards. Both of Manning's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Analysis

Manning had a good history against the Texans, with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions in his past five meetings, so he struggled some this week. Still, he posted solid Fantasy stats and remains a No. 1 option in Week 6 against Baltimore. It will be a tough matchup against the Ravens, but Manning will still put up solid numbers.

If you're looking for as close to a sure thing as there is in Fantasy Football, Peyton Manning is your man. Tossing for over 4,000 yards for the eighth time in nine seasons, Manning's 2007 was solid even without reliable WR Marvin Harrison playing a full 16-game slate. The emergence of Reggie Wayne and expected progression of Anthony Gonzalez should help Manning get over any talent drop-off Harrison experiences this season (he's ready to play, by the way). The bottom line is that owners who draft Manning with a pick in late Round 1 or very early Round 2 will have a passer they'll never bench. Manning did have a minor knee operation in July that could sideline him for most of the preseason, but he began practicing on Aug. 26 and is expected to be fine for the start of the season. The injury should not hurt Manning's value at all.
