Brees named player of the month: Saints QB Drew Brees was named the NFC offensive player of the month for September. He is 107-of-148 passing this season for a league-high 1,343 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He is on pace to become only the fifth quarterback in NFL history to eclipse 4,000 yards passing in three straight seasons. "That's certainly an honor but definitely is something that is about the team and not one guy, what we've been able to accomplish as an offense," Brees said. "We're on track to where we want to be. Certainly we could be better. We're not going to rest on our laurels by any means."

Fantasy Analysis

Brees is one of the best Fantasy QBs in football and should be starting almost every week. That goes double in Week 5 against Minnesota, who is among the bottom half of defenses against the pass in the league. Even without star wideout Marques Colston this season, Brees has still been a clear No. 1 option.

The Saints brought back Joey Harrington as their third quarterback on Wednesday.

Saints QB Drew Brees is looking to pick up where 2007 finished. After a disappointing start, when Brees had nine interceptions in his first four games, he finished with a career-high 28 touchdowns and 4,423 yards. The 18 interceptions were too high, but Brees' overall production dwarfs that total. He has tremendous weapons in Marques Colston and Reggie Bush, and the addition of TE Jeremy Shockey should only make Brees that much better. Consider Brees a No. 1 Fantasy QB worth a draft pick somewhere between Rounds 2 and 4 thanks to his potential for 30-plus touchdowns and another 4,000-yard season.
